As the introduction episode of the Byzantine Time Traveller Podcast, I will give an overview to what my entire podcast is about and what makes it unique compared to other Byzantine history podcasts.
In the 3rd episode, I will go over how my Byzantine passion was kick-started because of a book being Byzantium: The Surprising Life of a Medieval Empire by Judith Herrin and my own opinions about the book.
In the 5th episode, I will give a tour of 5 of Istanbul's best preserved Byzantine era Constantinople landmarks in a chronological order.
In the second of episode, I will go over the video game that first introduced me to the Byzantines: Assassin's Creed Revelations and what the game got right and wrong about the Byzantines.
In the 4th episode, I will discuss in detail why I don't call the Byzantines properly as the "Eastern Romans" and stick to the rather incorrect and controversial term "Byzantine" in order to avoid confusion.
In the 6th episode, I will continue my tour of the best preserved Byzantine era Constantinople landmarks in a chronological order.
In the 7th episode, I will discuss the mysterious circumstances behind the deaths of 12 different Byzantine emperors throughout Byzantine history.
In the 9th episode, I will discuss the tragic love stories in the lives of 6 Byzantine rulers and how it affected their reigns and Byzantine history as a whole.
In the 11th episode, I will discuss two Byzantine emperors who I think are highly underrated but did a lot in shaping the empire: Zeno and Anastasius I.
The 8th episode features our first interview, here with Byzantine enthusiast and educator Kosta Dalageorgas on popularizing Byzantine history.
In the 10th episode, I will discuss the ambitious and energetic reign of Emperor Justinian I the Great (527-565) and his accomplishments.
In the 12th episode, I will discuss how the Byzantines were engaged in what now call globalization through their contact with faraway lands.
